Graeme Payne was the Sr. Vice President and CIO of Global Corporate Platforms at Equifax. On July 29, 2017, hackers broke into the Equifax system. Six weeks later, 140 million consumers would be told their information had been exposed. It’s one of the largest breaches of this century and the CEO testified before Congress that human error and a technological failure were to blame. Mr. Payne was identified as that human error and was fired six weeks after the breach.
